মাথা নেড়ে বুড়ো বলে, ‘যা ভেবেছি তাই,

পাখিদের বাসা হল মোর দাড়িটাই!

পেঁচা আছে দুইখানি,

মুরগিও আছে জানি,

শেষে কিনা এসে জোটে শালিক চড়াই!’

পেলিক্যান পাখি এসে আমারে শুধায়,
